Social Crew - Webpage with a Cause
Dynamic Web Landing Page
2023
In a remote world, volunteer opportunities needed to take a different form. The Social Crew landing page provided dynamic and actionable content for social media sharing that initially mobilized employees or corporate partners.
What is the story?
When COVID struck, the organization had to pause all the in-person volunteer opportunities, leaving a big hole in the engagement possibilities. It was one more story of loss in the time of Pandemic
We had to find a way to connect potential supporters with our work when no direct connection was possible. These supporters had to become the heroes of a story on the power of sharing.
What do we want to do with our story?
We looked at what avenues we had available and then suggested that we needed to build a virtual volunteer opportunity for staff from our corporate partners to help build out our social media presence by joining our Social Crew.
Who was the audience?
The employees of our Corporate Partners were not our regular donors. But some had participated in our volunteer events before COVID, and we wanted to build a virtual means of connection.
What form would it take?
It was developed as an exclusive landing page (only available to those who joined) to become a part of the Social Crew and share news of the latest crisis and other important health initiatives via social media. It opened a window to longer term engagement with a constituency that had not been reached previously. Employees at many partner companies did not have a direct connection to the organization. This became an engagement opportunity for a sustainable involvement with the organization's mission.
Result:
We held Zoom conversations with employees at different companies, promoting the volunteer opportunity of being a part of the Social Crew. The employees then signed up and participated via their personal social channels in the sharing of crisis alerts, stories and other content of interest. The page was regularly updated and email alerts were sent to those who joined the Social Crew. In a time of isolation, it became a connection point.
